Adventure Racing Ontario: 2025 by the Numbers

As the 2025 adventure racing season winds down, it’s time to celebrate the incredible energy and participation that powered Ontario’s adventure racing community this year! Across the province, racers came together in coed, female, and male teams, taking on adventures on foot, bike, snowshoes and the water.

Racers accumulate points based on the event and final rankings. We crunched the numbers from the season’s results, and here’s what we found:

• The Coed category featured 161 teams, with the top three Coed teams: Wild Rovers, Wilderness Traverse, and Spare Parts (NARly Expedition).

• The Female category had 68 teams, with the top three teams being Uterati, Tree Huggers, and Collingwood Cougars.

• The Male category included 170 teams, with the top three teams of Milton Basement Racers, MAKURATS young and old, and One for the Adventure.

Many racers competed in multiple events or teams, but when we count each person only once (by their full name), nearly 500 unique adventurers contributed to the vibrant Ontario AR scene.

As always, a look down the list of team names provides some chuckles. This year we had (Adventure) Dogs, (Feisty) Frogs, (Jetpack) Monkeys and (Iron) Moose. We had Couch Potatoes, Crazy Cat Ladies, Blazing Paddles, Matching Bifocals, Treehuggers and Dad Jokes. Names that make us smile speaks to the sense of adventure and fun we find with this community.

We’re excited to see what next year brings. If you haven’t checked your team’s ranking yet, head over to our updated results page and see where you stand!

Thank You:
To every racer, volunteer, and organizer—thank you for keeping the adventure alive. Stay tuned for more updates, stories, and opportunities to get involved. Here’s to another year of exploration, challenge, and camaraderie!
